Update 8/27/2007 This is the annual review against the FAA 5010 data base. The net was 7 new adds for first time and 22 closed. Some errors were detected in the data base and corrected. "??" used to be considered as closed, but they are no longer carried as closed if there was a field of similar name at the town by 1930. Lack of data between 1920 and 1930 has made it difficult to understand what airfields were open in that time frame.
This is the abridged version of the Oklahoma main data base. All airfields are presented with earliest and latest entries along with anything that helps to understand the history of the airfield (name changes, etc.). The unabridged version is a very large excel spreadsheet and is currently approximately 0.9MB in size with over 3,400 entries in it. Entries can vary from a single entry for an airfield, to some that have been around for a long time may have over 30 entries.
