Update: 4/09/2006 - minor additions and corrections. Standardization on the legend is incorporated.
This is the initial release of the Colorado data base. Work is continuing on this data base and changes and corrections will be made from time to time. These data bases are works in progress.
Colorado, like many states, has had a significant increase in number of private airfields.
As per the other data bases, helicopter fields are not normally entered into this data base unless something unique and would be included. Ultra-light airfields that are less than 1000 feet in length or normally not included either.
This is the abridged version of the Colorado main data base. All airfields are presented with earliest and latest entries along with anything that helps to understand the history of the airfield (name changes, special information, etc.). The unabridged version is a very large excel spreadsheet and is currently approximately 1.0MB in size with over 4,200 entries in it. Entries can vary from a single entry for an airfield to multiple entries, in chronological order, for an airfield (especially where name changes or operational status varied.
The full data base is available by special request.
